[0:00:30] Geoff: Hello and welcome to another regulation draft, I think. I think we're doing the food songs draft, right? Because nobody's going to throw a blindside in our way. We're not going to have to watch Canadian men hunt other Canadian men. Or Canadian people slime and bean each other or anything like that. We're just going to do a f**king straight up draft as intended. I'm out of bullets for media things. Thank God. All right. Well, in that case. Jesus Christ. In that case, let's get into the draft. Eric? Yeah. Do you want to take it over?
[0:01:02] Eric: Guys, the food songs draft, I think. Is it? Yeah, it is. Last time we spun the wheel, that's where it stood. And we even randomized the names. So we got really far in this thing. Oh, wow. Oh, we'll just pick up where we left off. Absolutely. This is the food songs draft. Building a four-course meal with food songs. That's songs with food in the title. We have randomized four times and landed on Nick, Andrew, Jeff, Gavin, Eric. If you want to see all that preamble, check out the blindside where we have to watch Wink Yahoo scream at children for 23 minutes. But this is the draft. We each have four picks. And it is a snake draft, which means 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, et cetera, et cetera. But, Nick, we begin with you. What is your first pick? Well, we're going with a four-course meal here. So I'm going to start off with a little appetizer. I almost said aperitif.
[0:02:03] Eric: Appetizer. You had it. Appetizer. Appetizer. Appetizer. You had it. You blew it. Had it, blew it, cutting it. Anyway, I'm going to start with an appetizer. So I'm going with oysters by Tori Amos.
[0:02:17] Andrew: Now, even though you said appetizer, Nick, I was nervous about what my pick is going to be. Because you have a history of unique side dishes for what you think should be a side. What do you mean? Like what? Well, we'll get to it with my pick.
[0:02:32] Eric: But it's an appetizer. It's not a side. It's different. Now, Nick. Wait, here's the difference? I'm. Yes. Nick, I'm curious about your sort of thought process here. In what way? In how you made the choices here. Have you heard oysters by Tori Amos? No. I told you, I read title. I go title. Did you just Google song food? Yeah.
[0:02:58] Gavin: Well, I went with songs that have food and title. You don't even know the songs or the people?
[0:03:04] Eric: He has no idea. He's not picking the best song. He's just picking the foods. Nick. I went food. I'm going for the win. We're creating a fucking meal here. It has to be a cohesive. The most important thing for Nick is that the food is good. It's a four course meal, Eric. Oh, what? You're going to. I just.
[0:03:24] Gavin: You're going to pick a bunch of bullshit. From our heart. Not from our thumbs. Google it. This is from the heart.
[0:03:31] Andrew: I'm picking a meal. This is so good. How often do you pick from the heart, Nick? Would you say? And not the thumbs. Every day. Every day. I pick from the heart. I don't know. Why am I the one on trial here? This is because you Googled. No, I Googled like 60 things. You went to the police station and declared your crime in front of all the officers. Nobody else was.
[0:03:52] Eric: Right, but he didn't know he was guilty is the exciting part. I couldn't play the song. I was in a coffee shop when I was doing that.
[0:03:58] Gavin: Put some headphones in, man. Yeah, I didn't have any. Put the speaker in your ear hole really low.
[0:04:04] Eric: Oh, did you? Oh, man. Jeff, any thoughts on Tori Amos?
[0:04:09] Geoff: I'm a big fan. I can't say that I'm familiar with the song Oysters. Yeah, this seems like it's maybe from a big fan. Can we? I do enjoy her.
[0:04:18] Gavin: Can you just take a screenshot of what's on your screen and we just post this? Me? That's the most insane first pick I've ever seen in any of our drafts.
[0:04:30] Eric: What are you talking about? I mean, oysters is a good appetizer. Listen, it was about the meal, Gavin. See, this is great. Each of you come with a bunch of bullshit stuck together that doesn't cohesively go. Then I'm going to slam each of you one at a time. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. The important thing that Nick was the food was. That's the point. It's the food.
[0:04:54] Andrew: It's so much. Have you heard the song? Fuck no. I want to throw out that there's no rule that the starter has to be at the start. You could have done that in the fourth round. You could have done that in the second round.
[0:05:06] Unidentified: Listen, I just wanted to make sure oysters by Tori Amos didn't get picked.
[0:05:09] Gavin: I'm going to go in reverse.
[0:05:11] Eric: Yeah, this is pretty interesting.
[0:05:13] Gavin: So your second pick is probably salad followed by meat and then maybe cake.
[0:05:17] Eric: Okay, well, fuck you. I mean, that's how a four-course meal tends to go. That's eerily close. This is starting so well. What do you mean? Andrew, you have the second pick. Have you heard the song that you're choosing? Absolutely, I have.
[0:05:31] Andrew: Great. It's a vibe setter. It is. Oh, cool. What I want kind of in a drink title as well, the same type of vibes, but I want to have a chill, nice, relaxing, delicious time with my menu. So I'm picking Jimmy Buffett's Cheeseburger in Paradise. Give me that burger. Add it to the count. I'm kicking back. I'm in paradise. I'm enjoying myself. What a meal.
[0:05:53] Eric: Yeah, I think that that was, I didn't even put it on my board because I thought there's no way I'm going to be able to get that. I just, unless I went like first, first, uh, Cheeseburger in Paradise was the one that when I brought this up to people, they were like, well, yeah, this song, it's like, well, yeah, I think that's the number one with a bullet choice.
[0:06:12] Andrew: Although I'm sure the other half of the crowd said Oysters by Tori Amos would be first overall.
[0:06:16] Eric: I'm, listen, I'm drafted in an order. I respect it, Nick. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want to do it this way. There you go. The writing. Yeah. Cause I want to, I want to lead with the, uh, you would leave with the, yeah, I'll lead with the, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oysters by Tori Amos is off the board, Jeff. You cannot have that. You can't pick it. You can't pick Cheeseburger in Paradise either. And that's a Jimmy Buffett song. I had a feeling that that was probably on your list.
[0:06:44] Geoff: Uh, I have many lists. This is for, I didn't know what to expect when I sat down to prepare this thing. I ended up with more options for this than any other draft we've done, I think.
[0:06:54] Gavin: Yeah.
[0:06:54] Geoff: Uh, but following in the footsteps of Nick by, you know, planning with the appetizer first, as you do, uh, I want to start my play. I'm going to, I'm thinking of this as a meal and a playlist, right? This is something I want to eat and it's something I want to listen to. So there needs to be a method to that madness. So I'm going to start off with a vibe to get me into the playlist, but also a little bit of, uh, you know, like bite-sized finger food to get me into the meal. I'm starting with, uh, Rap Snitch Knishes by MF Doom. That is, uh, I want to make sure I spell this right. I think it's just K-N-I-S-H-E-S.
[0:07:30] Eric: It is. Indeed it is.
[0:07:31] Gavin: If we put this on Patreon, we could just play little snippets, couldn't we?
[0:07:35] Eric: Yeah. Uh, yeah. Would you, would, do you want to do that? Are you making that executive decision right now? Oh, I see.
[0:07:40] Gavin: It usually happens with our little music picks, doesn't it?
[0:07:42] Eric: I don't think it does. Right. So I'm asking, so I'm asking if that, if you're making that executive decision right now and that's what we're doing. We can play like eight seconds or something, right? Nope. Okay. It's, it is, it's just, we either, we either play it and this is behind the paywall or we don't. Okay.
[0:07:53] Andrew: There you go. I don't think we need to play it. It's up to you. It's whatever. I think it's a wild move to make this declaration on the fourth pick of the first round.
[0:08:02] Gavin: Yeah. I just realized I don't know any of these songs and I have no idea what they sound like.
[0:08:07] Geoff: You've never heard Cheeseburger in Paradise? No. How does it go? Would you like, Gavin, would you like to? Well, apparently not.
[0:08:13] Andrew: Cheeseburger, paradise, paradise, cheeseburger. Did that help you? Or would you like me to play it? We also could build a playlist of these songs and put it in the thing. Not saying that that's a post list. I'm just noting. It's another thing that can be done.
[0:08:32] Eric: Hey, listener. Thank you so much for tuning in. We really appreciate you. We're kind of just building this car as it's already going down the road. So we appreciate you hanging on with us as we do this. I guess if we're not going to play the songs, then I don't have to worry about this. But if we do, Gavin, you can be the first. Gavin, what is your pick?
[0:08:50] Andrew: I'd like to maybe argue that it's not that we're building the car while we're on the go. We had a car built and we were driving down the road. And then somebody said, what if we add an additional seat and back to this vehicle? Well, isn't that just what we normally do? Could be. Yeah. I'm totally fine with it. I just think it's funny that it didn't get considered until the fourth pick.
[0:09:10] Eric: Well, he didn't want to hear oysters, I don't think. Well, you've never heard oysters. So he just wants to keep it that way. I mean, I might maybe in passing. Why are you laughing? Gavin, what's your pick?
[0:09:28] Gavin: I'm going to start with dessert. I'm going to start with a little bit of, I don't know what this would be. It just sounds like it should be a dessert. I'm going to start with a little bit of Tay Zonday. I'm going to chocolate rain.
[0:09:42] Eric: Whoa! That is a, that's a, wow. How do you spell Tay Zonday? You ever had a chocolate rain dish before?
[0:09:53] Gavin: No. I would though. If it was on the menu, just a chocolate rain. I would definitely do that.
[0:09:59] Eric: So, hang on. Nick, are you saying that? That's fine.
[0:10:04] Unidentified: It's a good pick.
[0:10:05] Andrew: It's chocolate.
[0:10:06] Eric: It's not like Nick was trying to argue about it.
[0:10:08] Andrew: Gavin in the food draft is selecting a song that is a metaphor about institutional racism.
[0:10:14] Gavin: It is about racism. But the title, I mean, is. No, I get it.
[0:10:19] Andrew: I get the title part. Oh, it's interesting. It's like I went off, it's like I went off the title. Is it like chocolate in the shape of rain? Or, or what is your evaluation? Is it like a chocolate piece in a rain? Because it's not chocolate space rain. Like it's not, you're conjoined.
[0:10:35] Gavin: That's what I mentioned, right? You know when in Breaking Bad, when they're making the, they're squirting the blue meth into the tray and it's like a pipe with a bunch of holes in and it's like coming down. It's like a little rainfall. I imagine that, but with chocolate over some sort of lovely little cake.
[0:10:49] Eric: I, I think it's a great pick. I don't think anybody else was going to pick chocolate rain. Oh no, I'm not on my board. I'm not on my board. But I think it's a good pick. Um, Nick is mad. I think. No. The vibe I'm getting from Nick as I'm sitting next to him is that he's upset. He doesn't like that. We made fun of oysters. He doesn't like the chocolate rain is on the board. Got it.
[0:11:18] Andrew: Nick, voice your concerns. You know, I'm happy for Nick because when he's done with this draft, he'll be able to listen to all his picks for the first time. That'll be exciting. Have a nice playlist to go off. I just, I'm just curious about how chocolate rains a dessert. That's all. I, I could agree with Nick, but I think it's funny that it's on his board. It's such a bad pick. I'm not going to fight it.
[0:11:43] Eric: It's chocolate. Chocolate's food. Oh, Gavin, I'm with you. A hundred percent. You're this. It belongs. Have you ever bought chocolate rain before? Yeah. You ever bought chocolate rain? You ever seen chocolate rain on a menu? Have you ever bought paradise? I've bought a cheeseburger in paradise. What's a rap snitch knish, Andrew? I have no idea. I just assumed it was something that I didn't know. Again, here's the thing, Andrew. I think it's really interesting that this gets brought up on the fourth pick.
[0:12:08] Andrew: Yeah, because that's when it happened. This is when it occurred. What do you mean?
[0:12:12] Gavin: There's a song picks in every pick. This is the first time chocolate rain's been picked. It's just chocolate. Just pay attention to chocolate.
[0:12:21] Andrew: Yeah, but you're saying you can't compare mine because it's a cheeseburger in paradise. A cheeseburger is not. It's not saying it's a cheeseburger paradise. Right. You're having a cheeseburger in paradise. He's got you.
[0:12:36] Geoff: Gavin, I think your pick is so valid.
[0:12:39] Eric: Gavin, your pick's a hundred percent valid. I just want them to keep arguing. Oh, it's fine.
[0:12:44] Gavin: I'll be honest, Andrew's really going to hate the rest of my picks.
[0:12:47] Andrew: Yeah. I just, you know, you threw the last draft we did. You questioned some of my picks. So I'm just, you know, I think we should analyze some of your picks as well. I've never seen chocolate rain on a menu. Don't know what it is. I understand it consists of chocolate.
[0:13:01] Eric: Oh, man.
[0:13:05] Andrew: Oh, wow. I've never seen a cheeseburger in paradise on a menu. This is insane. It's an insane statement. Yeah. You're in paradise. You've seen cheeseburgers on a menu. That's right.
[0:13:14] Eric: I love that. It's just skipping over Jeff's completely. It's just fantastic. It's a snitch eating knish. Come on. It's a, it's, yeah. Come on. Uh, Gavin. Great pick. Valid. And it's on the board. And it's on the board. But now I have two in a row. And I'm going to start with, again, Nick. Nick wanted to start with an appetizer. So we're going to do that. And it's going to be Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground. That's an appetizer? Oh, yeah. Oh, you're getting started with the meal. A hundred percent. Oh, my dessert just got taken. Oh, really? Yeah, that was good. Yeah! Off the board, Nick. Take that. Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground for me was an easy, easy, easy pick. Andrew, thoughts? I've seen candy in stores. Here's the difference.
[0:14:14] Andrew: Here's the difference, Gavin. I've never seen chocolate rain. That's a singular item. This is sex and general candy.
[0:14:23] Gavin: You've seen candy in stores, but you've never seen chocolate in stores? I've never seen chocolate rain in stores.
[0:14:29] Andrew: That's right. Chocolate rain is a specific thing. Candy is a general item. What about the sex? I haven't seen that in stores either.
[0:14:39] Gavin: Not going to go to the right stores.
[0:14:43] Eric: That's true. Yeah. There was a guy so low to the ground.
[0:14:49] Gavin: He was way too low down.
[0:14:50] Eric: He was way too low. What was he doing so low to the ground? Is he looking for his keys? Oh, he lost the concept. Well, if you're going to have sex and candy, we go to my second pick. You've got to wash it down with something. And for me, that's Red Red Wine. That's a good one. By UB40.
[0:15:08] Andrew: There you have it.
[0:15:09] Eric: Have you seen Red Red Wine in stores? That's a great song.
[0:15:11] Andrew: I don't typically go to, I think, yeah, I mean, I've seen it, but it's not like a regular. I haven't been to a wine store in a long time. Yeah, I don't think I was asking if it was in, like, a regular store that you normally go to. Do they sell red wine in grocery stores?
[0:15:26] Eric: I don't know that they do in Canada. I don't think they do. They do here. Interesting. Yeah.
[0:15:32] Gavin: Not before noon on Sunday.
[0:15:34] Eric: Yeah, it's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a whole thing. It's actually, I think it's 10 a.m. now. For some reason, Kevin, it's 10 a.m. It doesn't make any sense. Well, it's in case you need the blood of Christ on Sunday. It's because football starts at noon out here. That's exactly what it is.
[0:15:52] Gavin: Fun fact, I believe a UB40 was the form you signed to start unemployment benefits.
[0:15:58] Eric: Is that right? In England. Oh, wow. Is that where? I didn't know that's where the name came from.
[0:16:04] Geoff: So the band stands for Unemployment Benefits 40.
[0:16:07] Eric: Oh, wow. That's crazy.
[0:16:18] Gavin: I knew that that was the form. I never put it together that the UB would actually stand for unemployment benefits.
[0:16:25] Eric: Oh, wow. Oh, that's so funny. But Gavin, I have two on the board, which means we go to your second pick, and I can't wait to see what it is.
[0:16:33] Gavin: Well, I'm going to take a page from your bag and wash it down with something. Oh, okay. I love a nice fruity, sugary drink. I think I like Pina Coladas, so if you do, that's my song. I don't know who it's by, but it's if you like Pina Coladas.
[0:16:50] Eric: It is called Escape, the Pina Colada song by Rupert Holmes. There you go. Which, if you're not familiar with Rupert Holmes, I recommend his album Partners in Crime. Good album. It has that song on it. It is a good album. I like Rupert Holmes. There you go. Andrew, have you ever seen Escape in the song?
[0:17:16] Andrew: No. But it could be an energy drink. It feels like an energy drink. I think it could be in there. I just haven't seen it.
[0:17:22] Gavin: Is that a lyric in the song?
[0:17:24] Andrew: What's that? Escape? It is.
[0:17:26] Gavin: Yeah, right to me in Escape. Yeah. Okay.
[0:17:29] Eric: Yeah. It's just that the original name of the song is Escape, and then they changed it to Escape parenthetical, the Pina Colada song, because everyone just called into the radio station and said, hey, play the Pina Colada song. I love the pick.
[0:17:43] Andrew: Fantastic pick. My only note, Gavin. Oh, wow. Oh, good. Is I don't believe you like sugary drinks. You said I love a sugary drink. I don't think that's true. You're wrong.
[0:17:53] Gavin: My go-to drink at one point was a large mocha frappuccino.
[0:17:58] Eric: Oh, that's right. Oh, wow. That's right. You don't know me. You don't know me. Yeah, get him, Gavin. Get him. Get him.
[0:18:04] Andrew: I would argue the base of, like, so many sodas is fruity sugariness, and you hate soda. He's got you there. Yeah, I do hate soda. This doesn't do it to me. I'm just saying, it's a little odd, but hey, you know you better than I know you, so I respect it. I believe it.
[0:18:20] Eric: I'm surprised that that was a regular Starbucks order that you would get. That is so out of character for you.
[0:18:26] Gavin: I think I saw someone get one on set while we were filming once. I don't think I've ever ordered that myself. I've just always put in a request if someone was doing a coffee run.
[0:18:38] Geoff: It's something he feels confident writing down.
[0:18:41] Eric: Yeah, absolutely. It's when you go to a restaurant with Gavin, you order something, he sits next to you and he goes, I'll have that too. Yeah, same.
[0:18:47] Gavin: I mean, do you ever just go and try a new thing completely solo? I feel like I've never done that. I'm too scared.
[0:18:52] Eric: Yeah, all the time.
[0:18:54] Gavin: Sometimes I'll hear someone order something and that's like, oh, that does sound good. You like that? Cool. I might like that.
[0:19:01] Unidentified: Yeah. Prime presents Perfect Pairings. What pairs with Reacher on Prime? Reaching for a sparkling punch delivered with Prime. It's an unbelievable feeling when you're enjoying a punch. At the same time, Reacher is enjoying punching people. Wow, he's still punching people. Entertainment meets fast delivery. It's on Prime.
[0:19:31] Eric: Well, there you have it. Escape the Pina Coladas song by Rupert Holmes is on the board. And Jeff, unfortunately, you can't pick that.
[0:19:54] Geoff: No, unfortunately, I can't. Is that the if you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain? Yes, it is. You know, that song is about cheating on your spouse, right? And you're finding out that you're cheating on your spouse with your spouse. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pretty funny.
[0:20:05] Eric: When they when they see each other at the bar, his wife goes, oh, it's you. Oh, it's you.
[0:20:10] Gavin: Yeah. So I've got racism and cheating.
[0:20:13] Geoff: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're putting together a hell of a meal. Riding a line. You know, not to deflect here, but I had a real unemployment benefits 40 moment last night. Oh, wow. I wondered if you guys have landed on this as well. I was watching Survivor, new season of Survivor 50 and Mike White is on it and people were talking to him about the TV show and stuff and it hit me. Do you think he named it White Lotus because his name is Mike White? Never occurred to me. Never occurred to me. Probably.
[0:20:38] Eric: I mean, it's I mean, it sounds like he probably didn't want to and then went and nothing's gonna be better than that.
[0:20:42] Geoff: Right. It's his name. I don't know why it never popped into my head. Regardless. Yep. This is a food draft and I need to give you a song with my next course. I'm going punk rock. I'm going one of the most famous punk rock songs of all time. One of from one of the most offensive bands of all time. Real tough guys. A lot of fun. Even a lead singer leaving even appeared in a movie that you guys all love. He played Mr. Body in Clue. I am referring to the song Beef Baloney by Fear. Yeah. It's not Beth Baloney.
[0:21:16] Eric: I'm sorry. I'm looking at. Good old Beth.
[0:21:19] Geoff: I like Beth.
[0:21:20] Eric: Is it B-A-L-L-O-N-E? That's not how you spell Beef Baloney, is it?
[0:21:24] Geoff: Beef Baloney, I think is how the song is spelled. Isn't it G-A?
[0:21:26] Eric: Wow, that.
[0:21:28] Geoff: Baloney is like B-L-O-G-N-I-A. B-A-L-O-G-N-A.
[0:21:33] Gavin: When you said really offensive, I thought you were going to go Meat Men.
[0:21:37] Geoff: Oh, no. Meat Men are more offensive than Fear, actually. Yes. There are a few bands more offensive than Fear, but Fear were pretty bad. Yeah, this song is, in the song, it's his cock, of course. I'm just referring to the Baloney. Yeah. Regular Baloney.
[0:21:52] Eric: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, it is, that's a good pick. Uh, no one else, I think, was going to pick it.
[0:22:01] Unidentified: No.
[0:22:02] Eric: Uh. I might have.
[0:22:05] Unidentified: Jesus Christ.
[0:22:09] Geoff: If it had shown up on a list, Nick could have.
[0:22:12] Eric: It was on the list.
[0:22:14] Geoff: Just on my list.
[0:22:14] Eric: Never heard it. Could you imagine, Jeff, could you imagine if Nick picked that off his list and you had to explain to him what the song was about? It wouldn't fit with my meal.
[0:22:31] Geoff: Oysters and Baloney.
[0:22:33] Eric: Well.
[0:22:34] Geoff: That should be a song.
[0:22:37] Eric: Well. Beef Baloney by Fear on the list. Andrew, you can't pick it. I know you're a big Fear fan. You love living in the city, so why don't you give me a pick here, your second.
[0:22:51] Andrew: My second pick. I'm excited about it. I'm sure it was on Nick's list. Popular song. Very Google-able. But I don't think it fits his meals, because it'd be a weird, weird meal thing for him. But I'm not worried about it necessarily fitting my meal. It's just delicious. I just want some joy on my menu. So I am going with Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson.
[0:23:11] Eric: Oh, Jack Johnson. That was on my list. That was on my list.
[0:23:15] Andrew: Love me some pancakes. Love me some banana pancakes. I love me some Jack Johnson. But that's a personal thing. I enjoy the chillness of the vibe that he's setting of Banana Pancakes. A song, really, that's just about enjoying the food and relaxing, which is sort of a theme.
[0:23:32] Eric: Isn't it from the Curious George soundtrack, that one specifically? No.
[0:23:37] Andrew: I don't think it is. I think it was upside down. I think it was front, like they sourced. I think the Curious George song was on that album. Because it felt like he released the album at the same time as that soundtrack coming out.
[0:23:48] Eric: And I really recommend if you can find like a Jack Johnson, like essentials type playlist, where it's like just the hits. You put it on on a Sunday morning with the windows open while you cook breakfast. That's what that music's for. It's good in the rain. There you go. And it's good in the rain, which is, there you have it. Banana Pancakes is off my list now. So that's gone. Have you heard that one, Gavin?
[0:24:07] Geoff: No. I'm right there with you, Gavin. I don't know that I've ever heard the name Jack Johnson before in my life.
[0:24:13] Eric: Oh, really?
[0:24:13] Gavin: I had an ex that wanted a Jack Johnson song to be our song. Oh, cool. So she put it on my iPod. I don't think I ever listened to it, because we broke up right after. And then it did that thing where every time I synced, it went back on my iPod. And I just couldn't shift that song. I don't think I ever let play it more than like five seconds. It may have been the Ben Stiller song.
[0:24:37] Eric: No, maybe. I gotta find what's, I gotta know what song it is, Gavin. I need to know. If you can find out, can you let us know?
[0:24:45] Gavin: Yeah. It's probably on my, all the iTunes.
[0:24:49] Eric: Well, while you're searching for that, Nick actually has two picks back to back. And I'm very curious about what he's gonna pick with Oysters by Tori Amos as his first pick. What is your second pick in this draft, Nick? Setting a theme, setting a vibe for this meal. You're setting a vibe, all right. Going with Soup by Blind Melon. I know that one. Yeah? Yeah. You, you know, you know that band or you know that song? I know both. Wow. So you've heard that song? Yeah. Okay. Goes Soup.
[0:25:19] Gavin: Soup. I'm so close with salad.
[0:25:21] Eric: Oh. It was a good guess, Gavin. I was a little worried when you almost picked my entire list for me. Jeff, any thoughts on a Blind Melon pick here? I don't think he knows that song. I don't think so either. And I also think, I also think that he's... Yeah, I think you know that song. Exactly.
[0:25:39] Geoff: I think, I think everybody knows that song. Yeah. I don't think you know this song. This is a, this is less known ditty. Yeah, it's definitely less known.
[0:25:46] Eric: It's their other hit, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Also, very interesting, and you didn't harp on this, which I'm surprised. Melon, also a food. True. We're not going with band names. Right. It's just surprising to me that it's not something that you, like, it seems like something you would say here.
[0:26:03] Geoff: Could have also brought up the fact that Jimmy Buffet is a whole bunch of food. Wow. Jimmy Buffet. Oh, I never thought of him as Buffet before.
[0:26:10] Eric: Very interesting. Wow. Nick, Soup by Blind Melon, almost guessed by Gavin. One, on your list. But what is the first pick in our third round here? Well, now we've reached the main course, and it's something nice and juicy. I'm going with T-Bone by Neil Young. And that's a, that's a song you know. T-Bone!
[0:26:36] Geoff: And the next line? Tastes real good! Tastes real good!
[0:26:49] Andrew: So when we spun a wheel, Nick, on what draft we should do, which way were you leading?
[0:26:55] Geoff: Oh, I like the McDraft. Oysters, soup, and a T-Bone steak.
[0:26:59] Eric: I'd eat it. I'd eat the shit out of it. That's pretty good. It didn't matter. Nick was so excited to go first in this draft. I was worried about oysters. I just wanted to order, and I wanted to place everything in the proper order. No, no one was going to pick any of the shit that you had. I feel like Gavin's a real Tori Amos head. Jeff is the Tori Amos fan.
[0:27:24] Gavin: I have no idea what Tori Amos is.
[0:27:26] Andrew: Oh, no, no, I made my pick. I reference, I was, uh...
[0:27:31] Geoff: She was, like, an alternative folk musician in the 90s when I was growing up.
[0:27:36] Eric: Oh, man.
[0:27:37] Geoff: When Nick said...
[0:27:37] Eric: And she had that hit song, Oysters.
[0:27:39] Geoff: Yeah. Yeah. And Papa was a corn starch girl or whatever.
[0:27:44] Andrew: When Nick said he wanted a starter, I was worried because of my cheeseburger pick, because Nick famously wants a side of cheeseburger with his cheeseburger. So I thought... That's true, yeah.
[0:27:54] Gavin: But a starter's not a side.
[0:27:56] Andrew: Yeah, a starter's not a side. It's all the same. No. I know it's different. It's all the same. It's all the same to me. All the names have changed. I googled that song.
[0:28:04] Gavin: So, would you order, like, a main, and then, like, a shrimp cocktail for the side?
[0:28:14] Andrew: I'm gonna be, honestly, like, a cocktail is so out of my depth. I would order a shrimp cocktail thinking that's my beverage. It would never occur to me that cocktail would be a meal order.
[0:28:33] Geoff: I'll be by the take of your juice in a second. I'll have a Diet Coke. I'll have a Diet Coke. I'll have the shrimp cocktail.
[0:28:40] Eric: Can I get a shrimp cocktail in a water?
[0:28:42] Andrew: What? Because, you know how they have, like, those drinks where it's like they put burgers and stuff on a stick in the drink? Like, I would assume it would be something like that. There's a place in Parksville that puts, like, whole burgers in their drink on a stick. And you think that's a shrimp cocktail? I think if people were like, hey, let's all get shrimp cocktails, I would definitely be going into it thinking that we're all getting a drink.
[0:29:11] Gavin: Oh, shit. We should try and turn one into a drink, see how it is.
[0:29:16] Andrew: No, not shrimp in the drink, to be clear. I would assume it'd be on a skewer above the drink.
[0:29:23] Gavin: Well, I guess if the sauce could be considered a drink, that's kind of what it is.
[0:29:31] Andrew: Drink, not drink draft? Now, my next pick in this draft is not something you wouldn't typically drink, but you could. Oh, okay. You could drink it. Okay. I want something sweet. I want something delicious, something I love. I'm going with Ice Cream by the Wu-Tang Clan.
[0:29:48] Eric: Oh! That's a... Good option. That's a great... That's a great pick. Yep. Yeah. Great pick, great food.
[0:29:57] Andrew: Love me some ice cream.
[0:29:59] Eric: Yeah. Uh, it's a, it's a cool song. It is a, um, it's a song where he lists ice cream flavors. Listen, there's a lot happening with the Wu-Tang Clan, and I think that, um, it, I, it's technically a Raekwon song, but we'll just keep it as Wu-Tang, uh, because there's so many Wu-Tang members on it, but, uh, that's, that's a good pick, Andrew. Thank you so much. Didn't even, didn't even make it on my list. I didn't even think about that song. Um, man, damn. Gavin, you familiar? No. Oh, okay, cool. Just making sure. I'm just checking in on you.
[0:30:41] Andrew: I'm going to know how many he's heard by the time we get to the end.
[0:30:43] Eric: Oh, that's a great, oh, yeah, Gavin, Gavin, keep it to yourself, but I want to know at the end.
[0:30:46] Geoff: We should do, we should take bets on how many we think the answer's going to be. Okay. I've heard more of mine than Gavin's heard of this list.
[0:30:52] Eric: Um, Jeff. Yeah. Jeff, we go to you next.
[0:30:56] Geoff: All right, so, uh, continuing with my theme. Both of playlist and of meal. It is time for the main course. I'm a simple man. As you've seen, I eat, uh, the beef bologna. So when it's time for me to scarf down, uh, the star of my meal, it's going to be some form of hamburger. I had a lot of options to go with. A lot of punk songs named after hamburgers. The obvious one may have been Anarchy Burger by the Vandals, but I'm not a huge fan of that song. A song I do like, though, is a song by a band called Millions of Dead Cops or MDC. MDC? I'm going with Corporate Death Burger.
[0:31:31] Eric: Yeah.
[0:31:33] Geoff: Uh, I'm familiar. A band that was, uh, was an Austin local band briefly. Is that right? Between Austin and I think California.
[0:31:39] Eric: I had no idea. Uh, the thing I liked about MDC is that, uh, it felt like they would change what MDC stood for all the time. Uh, and so it, and I think it just ended up with people went like, oh, Millions of Dead Cops is what they're known as.
[0:31:54] Geoff: Uh, yeah, I think it was cause they're, they had an album that was, yeah. Uh, very cool. I think they had an, uh, they might've had a Millions of Dead Christians type thing too.
[0:32:01] Eric: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So, very, very interesting. I think, uh, I think that's a great pick. Thank you. And, uh, I know Gavin's heard that one. I'm going to guess Gavin's heard that one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, it's going to, I'm going to, I'm going to make a little check just for me so I know. Speaking of Gavin, though, Gavin, it's time for your third pick.
[0:32:22] Gavin: Well, uh, once again, I've gone with a pick that I would want to listen to. I, I, I don't mind this song. And, uh, I don't know what this would be once again as a menu. I am, but if it did exist, I would eat it. It sounds delicious. It's a, it's a raspberry beret.
[0:32:39] Eric: Mm. Andrew?
[0:32:44] Andrew: What about it?
[0:32:47] Eric: Checking in? I wouldn't wear it. I, I would eat it, though. Yeah, sure. You, you'd, you'd eat. You'd eat the beret? You'd eat the beret.
[0:32:57] Gavin: Yeah, if you somehow stitched. What would it be, like? Made a beret out of. 120 raspberries or something together? Like a fruit leather beret, maybe.
[0:33:06] Eric: Oh! Fruit leather beret. I like that. Ooh. The kind you eat at the second hand store. That's good. That's a good idea. Yeah. Um, I'm surprised Andrew's not zeroing in on this one. I think he said all he needed to say against chocolate rain.
[0:33:24] Andrew: Yeah. I vocalize my thoughts. You just carry it over for Gavin. I love Gavin.
[0:33:32] Eric: In fact, I've been hearing, and a lot of people are saying this, you're actually on his side. I'm on everybody's side. That's great. I want the best for everyone.

[0:34:24] Eric: Love the way. Um, okay, well, we go to my final picks, and, uh, I might, you might look at this and be like, oh, he's coming to this early. I'm not. This is not my fourth course. This is my third course in my four-course meal draft. And that's cigarettes and coffee, by the way. Oh, my God. I thought you were, oh, jeez. What?
[0:34:47] Unidentified: What?
[0:34:47] Gavin: Are you okay? No, I just, I just thought I was going to lose a pick there, but then, then it was fine.
[0:34:52] Geoff: I wonder if you picked one of my picks, Gavin.
[0:34:55] Eric: Uh-oh. Oh. Oh, shit. We'll find out next. Very interesting, but, uh. That's a good chorus right there. Yeah, so I'm, I'm, I'm looking at my list, and I'm wondering what I'm missing. And I'm, I'm just thinking about all of, like, the carnal things that I have here. Sex and candy, red, red wine, cigarettes, and coffee. I'm kind of hitting, I'm checking all the boxes. And I think to end my meal, because I want to go out strong, and I, uh, emphasis on, uh, go out, uh, my last pick is Poisoned by Belbiv DeVoe. Jesus Christ.
[0:35:27] Gavin: Is he just committing suicide at the table?
[0:35:30] Eric: I, I'm, I've had my sex and my candy. I've had my red, red wine. I've had my cigarettes and coffee, and I'm ready to be done. I feel so much better about my, my four-course meal.
[0:35:41] Gavin: You managed to pick four courses, and all you ate was candy.
[0:35:45] Eric: Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Didn't, didn't need anything else. Like a Jeff Wednesday. That's what I'm saying. It's a little bit of a girl dinner, but it ends like a boy dinner. You know what I mean? Like, uh, going out with poison, and, uh, poison's a woman's weapon. That's true. Wow. So I have a full girl dinner?
[0:36:07] Gavin: Yeah, I think so.
[0:36:08] Eric: Wow. Well, ladies, this one's for you.
[0:36:11] Andrew: You think poison is a woman's weapon, is the thing that was, uh, put out there by a guy named, like, Aaron Poison, who poisoned everybody? He did not be suspicious. It wasn't me.
[0:36:28] Eric: God damn it, Aaron Poison, you got me again.
[0:36:31] Geoff: It's pronounced poison. Poison. Poison.
[0:36:34] Eric: Uh, those are my four picks, and now we go to Gavin, who thought I was taking his final, but I didn't, so Gavin, what you got?
[0:36:42] Gavin: It's very similar, and I was trying to think, what is the most get-the-bill-and-go-home kind of, uh, song course, and it's gonna have to be Coffee and TV by Blur.
[0:36:55] Geoff: Mm. Not my pick.
[0:36:58] Eric: Really, really, like, Black Coffee in Bed wasn't the one that you picked, huh? What's that? Is that a song? What's that? By a band called Squeeze. I figure you might be familiar with them. It seems like it's in your wheelhouse. No. It just seemed like, when it was Coffee, it just seemed like that was it. Coffee and TV by Blur is your final pick.
[0:37:29] Gavin: I like the little milk cotton walking about. It's cute.
[0:37:35] Eric: All right. Gavin's four are in. We go to Jeff to cap off his four-course meal. Jeff, what is your fourth and final pick?
[0:37:42] Geoff: This is probably the hardest one for me to pick. There were so many good options. Previous Jeff would have probably picked Six Pack by Black Flag. Yeah, hell yeah. But I'm not, you know, not drinking these days. So, uh, and I also have never smoked cigarettes, but I really like that Rufus Wainwright song, Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk. So I couldn't pick that, but I kind of wanted to because it's such an awesome song. So I decided to settle on, uh, keeping it in my wheelhouse from the album Slip It In. I'm picking Black Coffee by Black Flag.
[0:38:12] Eric: Wow.
[0:38:13] Geoff: Ooh.
[0:38:14] Eric: What a pick. I like it. Yeah. Great. Great pick. Thank you. I like that we're all sort of thinking of it as like, how do we want to end this thing? Like, what's like your really, like, what's your way to cap your delicious meal?
[0:38:25] Geoff: Just, and just for the record, my playlist could beat up any of your playlists. Oh, for sure. Absolutely. Yeah. I mean. Undeniably.
[0:38:33] Eric: Mine tastes better. What are you talking about? Rupert Holmes isn't going to go up against fear? I think Tay Zonday. Tay Zonday versus Black Flag.
[0:38:44] Gavin: I think Tay Zonday would kick the shit out of Jack Johnson.
[0:38:47] Eric: Yeah. Wow. Yeah. That is true, actually. What a battle. Jeff's got his four in. Andrew, we go to you.
[0:38:56] Andrew: I got my last pick. Final pick. The final pick. And I'm going to, I got to step away as soon as I make this pick and there's no analysis needed for this pick. Oh, I'm putting it down. It's the definitive pick. I think it's going to steal the draft. If it had my draft, I feel good about my draft, but if I haven't stolen the draft yet, this is it by grand slam a point to the stance. I'm going to put the mic down after this. My final pick is WAP by Megan Thee Stallion or Cardi B or whatever. Whoever sinks that. That's my pick. Bye.
[0:39:25] Eric: Wait.
[0:39:26] Andrew: I think it's Cardi B. I said Megan Thee Stallion, but I think it's a Cardi B song.
[0:39:31] Eric: Yeah. I just want to make sure I have it. Yeah. No. Got it. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to put it. You know what? Gavin, chocolate rain. Totally acceptable.
[0:39:38] Gavin: You got to go with chocolate rain and he's having wet puss for dessert.
[0:39:42] Geoff: Yeah. To be fair, Megan Thee Stallion is in the song, I believe. She is.
[0:39:49] Eric: I can put her on there if you like. It is a Cardi B song. Featuring.
[0:39:52] Geoff: It is a Cardi B song. Okay.
[0:39:53] Eric: I can put featuring. Yeah. There you go. There we go. And we'll list it the way I think it probably is. You know, I think I'm starting to see why he stopped hammering on you. He really did. He stopped. The Raspberry Beret one, he was really cold. Like, he didn't go after you, which was very surprising to me.
[0:40:10] Gavin: The thing is, I think it's such a great pick. I think he's absolutely nailed that.
[0:40:16] Eric: It's a great one. It's a good pick. It's a really good pick. It's a good pick. Andrew's board is complete. And now we go to Nick, who I know has a deep roster of final picks because he's still looking it up as he was going through in the middle of the draft, going through lists and lists of food songs, scrolling and looking and searching to see if there was anything else he needed. Oh, Nick, I saw. It is a webpage that is just Jeff filled to the brim with food songs that he could pick songs with food in the time. None of which he's heard. Yeah. Hey, Nick. Yeah. Take us home.
[0:40:49] Geoff: I'm going to take us home with a wonderful dessert that fits so well with what I have created here. And that is Cherry Pie by Warrant. Finally, a song I know he's heard.
[0:41:01] Eric: I definitely have heard that song. It's a good song. That was on my list as a runner up. But has Gavin heard the song? And boys, before we go down the list, we are going to take our guesses with how many Gavin has heard. I'm going to say with that one, I'm going to say three. I'll say three.
[0:41:19] Geoff: Are you including my pick? I mean, I'm going to include Gavin's songs. Yeah, you have to include Gavin's songs. He's heard four of his own songs. Okay. And I'm going to say he's heard six of the songs on this list. Okay.
[0:41:32] Eric: And Gavin, how many have you heard?
[0:41:34] Gavin: I've heard my four. Okay. Okay. Cherry Pie is the only one of Nick's. I've heard... I've heard Wet Ass Pussy. I've not heard any of Jeff's. And I've heard Red, Red Wine. And that's it. I should have picked seven.
[0:41:54] Eric: So was it six? Seven then. Seven. Gavin, you've heard seven songs. Wow. Way to go, buddy. That's great.
[0:42:01] Gavin: I may have heard some of Jeff's, you know, in the house or in the car, but without knowing what it was. Yeah. You probably haven't.
[0:42:08] Geoff: Okay. You may have heard Rap Snitch Knishes, but that'd be the only one. I wouldn't have played those other songs around you.
[0:42:13] Eric: I think the only song that I'm not familiar with on this thing is Oysters by Tori Amos. Listen, I was thinking more food than song, admittedly. You don't say.
[0:42:25] Geoff: How much soup by Blind Melon fan?
[0:42:27] Eric: Blind Melon has a good hit. Did anyone else have to open Google for this draft? I just started thinking down songs and kind of throwing stuff around.
[0:42:36] Geoff: Oh, I did the same thing Nick did. I just didn't pick songs that I wasn't familiar with. But I looked, I did a ton of research at a coffee shop. Yeah. Great work. But I just had headphones in so I could hear them. Oh, interesting.
[0:42:48] Eric: It might be something you want to consider. And speaking of Nick, these are his four picks in the four course meal songs draft. Oysters by Tori Amos. Soup by Blind Melon. T-Bone by Neil Young. And Cherry Pie by Warrant. Solid meal, though. Andrew has picked Cheeseburger in Paradise by Jimmy Buffett. Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson. Ice Cream by Wu-Tang Clan. And Wop by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion. Solid meal. Jeff has picked Rap Snitch Canishes by MF Doom. Beef Bologna by Fear. Corporate Death Burger by MDC. And Black Coffee by Black Flag. Gavin has picked Chocolate Rain by Taste on Day. Escape the Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. Raspberry Beret by Prince in the Revolution. And Coffee and TV by Blur. Eric has picked Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground. Red Red Wine by UB40. Cigarettes and Coffee by Otis Redding. And Poison by Belle Biv DeVoe. Boys, those are the songs that we chose. Any honorable mentions that you guys want to throw out there that you felt like could have made your list?
[0:43:51] Gavin: Yeah, I had a few. American Pie. I had On Top of Spaghetti. But I didn't know if that was a real song. I had that too. Yeah, I had that as well. I had I'm the Walrus because of that line sitting on a cornflake. I had Pour Some Sugar on Me and Popcorn.
[0:44:07] Geoff: Wow. Oh, that's good. I had Milkshake by Kellis, which I have the tattoo of, so I probably should have picked it. Yeah, that's a good one. I had Rock Lobster by the B-52. Yeah. Oh, that's great. I had Chop Suey by System of a Down. I also had Chop Suey. I had Soup is Good Food by the Dead Kennedys. And Green Corn by Nuffex.
[0:44:24] Eric: I had Gin and Juice by Snoop. Oh, that's good. Had Cola by Lana Del Rey. And Pizza Day by the Aquabats. One that I really wanted on my list here, but didn't. I was like, ah, it's going to be Sex and Candy or it's going to be this one. And it was Laffy Taffy by D4L. Oh, dude. And then Pepper by Butthole Surfers. Felt like it could have made that list as well. There is one that I'm holding on to, though, that I'm not going to say here. Nick, any other ones that maybe you heard and felt pretty good about? Cake by the Ocean. I had that on my list because, you know, that's kind of a romantic spot with a little bit of cake. That could have been a good one to cap off on you. It's about having sex on the beach, but I hear you. I said what I said. Eat Steak by the Reverend Horton. Oh, hell yeah. That was a good one. That was a good one. And Burrito by Seether. Nice. Nice. But it didn't fit the theme. Right, of course. And guys, those are our picks. Let us know what your draft board looks like in the comments.
[0:45:24] Eric: Also, let us know who won, who had the best four-course meal song draft. Some really good picks, including Oysters by Tori Amos on that board. Number one with a bullet. The first overall pick in this list. I'm going in order. I kept a theme. Y'all are fucking around.
[0:45:42] Andrew: Just saying.
[0:45:43] Eric: There you have it. Nick Carey concerned with the food. Well, thanks for listening. Check out the Patreon at patreon.com slash there regulation pod. Check out our gameplay videos. [0:46:03] Geoff: It's awesome. I'm pleased. Love it. I can't wait for Nick to hear his for the first time.
